Computer Tricks In excel, To add all numbers above a particular cell Press ALT + =. To chk spellings, select the word & press F7

Excel: To re-perform the function performed earlier press F4. Eg: When cell is inserted and you press F4 another cell will be inserted.
Get tired of red lines while typing your name or other proper nouns in Word! Now simply add these into dictionery. Right click on the word and click add.
If U have made a spelling mistake in word, it will be underlined in RED. Right click on it & suggested spellings will be given.
If U have multiple programs running & wanna browse thru them, press Alt + Tab. Use the Tab key to scroll your way across the programs.
If you continuously press ALT + F4 at first all windows will close and eventually the computer will shut down.
If you do not want a CD to start just once it is inserted, press SHIFT when you put it in the drive.
If you wanna keep the same file in 2 or more folders, make a file shortcut and store them in required folders. If changes are made, they will reflect everywhere.
In Excel, To open the Format cell box, you can right click on cell and select FORMAT CELLS or simply press CTRL + 1.
In word, If the curser was at a place and you moved it, Use the SHIFT + F5 key to go to let the curser go to that exact place where it was before it was moved.
In Word, SHIFT + F3 keeps changing the case of the selected text. This will help to change the case to upper, lower, etc.
INTERNET BROWSER SHORTCUTS: To Add the current pg to Favorites: CTRL + D To Maximize a window: ALT + SPACE + X To Minimize a window: ALT + SPACE + N
INTERNET EXPLORER SHORTCUTS : To Open Favorites Bar: Ctrl + I To Select text in address bar: Alt + D
Make a shortcut of Ur favorite site. Go to address bar of the site & drag it on the desktop. Bingo! U have Ur short cut.
Next time you are using your arrow keys to go from one letter to another in a sentence, Press CTRL + arrow. You will go one word at a time.
Press the CTRL + N key to open a new window in a particular program. This works in Word, Excel and Internet Explorer.
Press Win (the key with the windows logo on it) + D, to close all the open windows at once. Hold WIN + D again, action will be reversed.
The SHIFT + F10 key, works in the same way as a right click of a mouse. Use the arrow keys to navigate to the item you want to try it on.
To copy text from Excel to Word, go to Edit select paste special and click on Microsoft Excel Worksheet Object, the lines of excel dissappear
To copy text, you can select it, press control and drag it to its new location. Pretty neat!!
To edit a cell, Click on the cell, then press F2. You can now start editing it. F2 also allows you to see the formula input.
To open the My computer directly, Press Win (the key with the windows logo on it) + E
To open the start menu without using a mouse, press CTRL + ESC key
To permanantely delete a document, press SHIFT + DELETE. The document will not be sent to Recycle bin, & directly deleted
To rename a file or folder, select it and press F2. A dialogue box opens, and you can rename the file or folder.
To save an image from a web page to your computer, just right-click it and select ‘Save Picture As’ from the little menu that pops up.
To select a sentence, Place Ur curser at the end of the sentence. Press SHIFT + CTRL + up arrow key. The entire sentence is selected.
To select a word, Place Ur curser at the end of the word. Press SHIFT + CTRL + left arrow key. The entire word is selected.
To select text from the cursor to end of line you could Press SHIFT + END or CTRL + SHIFT + DOWN arrow.
To select text from the cursor to beginning of line you could Press SHIFT + Home or CTRL + SHIFT + UP arrow.
To use the menus in windows without a mouse, press the ALT + underlined alphabet on the menu. Eg. Press ALT + F, to open the FILE menu
Use F7 to spell check your word documents before saving or mailing them. Spell check will make Ur documents look more professional.
Uses of F4 key: ALT + F4 : Closes all the Windows of a program. CTRL + F4 : Closes only open window of a particular Program
Uses of the WIN KEY (the key with the windows logo on it): WIN + M minimizes open windows. WIN + SHIFT + M will undo minimization of windows
Uses of the WIN KEY (the key with the windows logo on it): WIN + R will open the Start menu’s Run box WIN + F will open the Start menu’s Find window
When U insert a table in Word, using the Tab key will jump cells. But if u need the Tab key to space out txt in the cell, Use CTRL + TAB.
