Whoever is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city.
He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city.
Slow dance with her, even if there isn’t any music playing.
He who has no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down and without walls.
Mockers inflame a city, but the wise turn away anger.
Scorners set a city aflame, But wise men turn away anger.
A hot-tempered man stirs up strife, but he who is slow to anger appeases contention.
A hot-tempered man stirs up conflict, but a man slow to anger calms strife.
The embodied spirit, master of the city of his body, does not create activities, nor does he induce people to act, nor does hecreate the fruits of action. All this is enacted by the modes of material nature. (5.14)
