Overall I have found
Overall I have found much that is impressive about Western society. In particular, I admire its energy, creativity and hunger for knowledge. But people there tend to think in terms of “black and white” and “either or” which ignores the facts of interdependency and relativity.
Today our knowledge has expanded greatly with the help of science and technology. But knowledge regarding our own mind, our deep nature, is still limited in the Western world.
Thus far I have described this knowledge to you through analytical study. Now listen as I explain it in terms of working withoutfruitive results. O son of Prtha, when you act in such knowledge you can free yourself from the bondage of works. (2.39)
Mantra is just given so that you are able to get in touch with the source that you are already. You don’t have to go around stealing energy here and there. This is another paranoia: people think, “Oh,I want to get energy from there.” Just relax! Relax. You are energy. You are the source of energy.
Do your best and do it according to your own inner standard (call it conscience), not just according to society’s knowledge and judgement.
“Knowledge is a process of piling up facts; wisdom lies in their simplification.” – Martin Fischer
“Knowledge is a terrible and marvelous thing.” -Little Black Book (2004)
Man and society are interdependent, hence the quality of man’s behavior as an individual and as a participant in his society is inseparable.
Relationship doesn’t need promises, terms and conditions. Just two people who love each other and want to be together.
Society cannot fully maximize its economic advantage without granting its people civil and political rights.
